::Arrived at the carpark where it led to 2 attractions - Matapa Chasm on the left and Tavala Arches on the right. This is a 30-min track through a rain forest and out through a cave. Walk through the native bush is calm and meditating. You will see wildlife like geckos and uga (coconut crabs) along the way. Look for orange arrows as track marks. Following footprints I was laid into a wrong path and had to walk back. Then the last 5 mins you will reach the slippery path down caving rocks. This is when you see ropes and chains to help guide you. The end result is worth the effort. There you will find the beautiful Arch de Niue and its associates.

::Well worth a short walk to see one of Niue's natural wonders.

::30 minutes bush walk one way is worth the beauty of the view and feeling of the power of nature. Good hiking SHOES are highly recommended, because of the sharp rocks on the path. We have met a few enthusiasts in their jandals not looking particularly happy. The final part of the path goes through low overhead rocks, kind of a cave. Take water and snacks with you. Not a place for swimming.

::After a 20 min walk through tropical vegetation, for which you need shoes not flipflops, it is a great reward at the end... Time your visit for low tide so you can safely walk out to the arch.
